The Rt.Rev.Dr.J.A.D.Jebachandran M.A.,B.D.,D.D.,, the Bishop in Thoothukudi-Nazareth Diocese, Church of South India since 2nd April 2006. He was born to Rev.S.John Joseph and Mrs.Ponnammal Joseph at Nazareth on 15th July 1952. He had his schooling at Kayamozhi in Tuticorin District and obtained his B.Sc., degree from Popes's College, Sawyerpuram. He did B.D. course at TamilNadu Thological Seminary, Madurai. Rt.Rev.Dr.J.A.D.Jebachandran is married to Visithiral and the couple had a son, Late.J.Johnson B.Sc.,M.A.,(B.D.,), and a daughter, J.Golda M.C.A.,.

About the Pastorate:
The Rev. John Thomas Tucker served in this place from 1844 to 1865. In 1849 he built a church and tower. It is called Christ Church. The great Indian Pastor Rev. Isaac Abraham worked here from 1869 to 1900. The people of this area has a great respect for him. The church dedication and asanam are held on 3rd October. The Harvest festival is celebrated on the Tuesday after Easter.
